ABOUT ME
Astrid Grove RM, CPM
I’m Astrid Grove, a community midwife, Maya abdominal therapist, and herbalist with over 20 years of experience supporting women and families on their health journeys. I find great joy in helping people access into their own intuitive wisdom, whether they’re preparing for conception, navigating their life cycle, or welcoming new life through gentle birth.
I hold a BA in Eastern Medicine and Philosophy from UMass Amherst and have trained extensively with respected herbalists including Susun Weed, Pam Montgomery, and Ellen Evert Hopman. After graduating from Birthwise Midwifery School, I became certified in the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy through the Arvigo Institute.
I’m passionate about teaching and have shared my knowledge of herbal medicine at midwifery schools like Aviva Institute (this school is closed now) and Indie Birth Midwifery School.

As an herbalist and Maya abdominal therapist, I work with families in any stage of their life cycle through herbalism and hands on care. I believe digestive and uterine wellness are at the center of health! I also enjoy preparing placentas into medicine for mothers.
I organize Red Earth: The Mountain West Women’s Herbal Gathering, an annual women’s herbal gathering, and offer wellness services at gatherings and festivals.
I am also a wife, a mother of two young daughters (both born at home with midwives), an avid medicine maker, a gardener and a keeper of chickens, goats and turkeys.
"While on my journey to conceive, I've felt so blessed to have had Astrid's guidance and hands-on care. Astrid is extremely knowledgeable and has helped me to resolve several health issues. Her background in herbs and women's wellness has helped to empower me and has given me tools to stay healthy. I've also received several abdominal massages from Astrid. In addition to her amazing gift of massage, she has helped me to believe in the strength of my own body, she's assisted me in incorporating ritual into my life, and she has even helped me to feel positive and joyful during times of doubt. Each time I connect with Astrid, I feel like she is doing exactly what she'd been called to do on this Earth!”
