Covid19
updated 7/30/20
If you are not currently a client but are seeking to transfer care to a home birth with a midwife, please email me at astridgrovemidwife@gmail.com or call me at 970.343.2968. I am accepting late to care clients on a case by case basis.
Dear beloved families-
As we navigate the day to day unfolding of the Covid19 virus (still!!!), I as your midwife am doing my best to stay informed and to make choices that will protect your family, the community and myself and my family. I am spending a considerable amount of time researching, on webinars, and consulting with midwives and health care practitioners worldwide. I am practicing social distancing and appropriate masking outside of midwifery care for my clients. I am dedicated to providing the best prenatal, birth and postpartum care I can during these changing times. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. You will see my risk reduction protocol below.
Risk reduction protocol:
Most visits will be in the office, outside of the 36 week home visit and the first week of postpartum visits. I will be attending births as normal, and as of now plan to attend all postpartum visits for the normal schedule. If I find out I have been exposed to the virus, I will be on a 14 day quarantine so as not to spread the virus.
Visit Schedule:
I will be offering all in person appointments. When you arrive at the office, please where a mask. Once you are in my personal space we can have a conversation about our exposure and comfort levels on whether we stay masked and whether I stay gloved.
Please do not come to your appointment if you or anyone in your family is sick or has a temperature or if you could have possibly been exposed. In this case we will do a telemedicine visit.
At each appointment I will:
Wash my hands for 20 seconds and then put on gloves to be worn for the duration of the appointment.
I begin every appointment wearing a mask and will don gloves for the exam portion if it is deemed appropriate and/or preferred.
Minimize physical contact.
Between each appointment I will schedule time to allow for cleaning and sanitizing of equipment to prepare for the following appointment.
As new information continues to be released, I will continue to review and update this protocol Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you feel more safe for your care and for your birth. I hope that you are enjoying my health and herbal recommendations that I am sending via email. Be well!
Thank you, Astrid
